Brunch at Luus Muus
We made a day of it Saturday and had brunch at Luus Muus. The atmosphere is super chill and feels like an American brunch spot that I’m used to being from the Seattle area. This is a family place where kids are welcomed with a good sized kid’s play area in the cafe as well as a large supervised playroom next door.
I was blown away when we arrived and saw the size of Luus Muus. Located above a parking garage and a big pedestrian square, the shiny new building was right in the center of Egg. Luus Muus is located 39 minutes by public transportation or 20 minutes in the car from Zurich HB.
The Food
The brunch is buffet style. When the kids are finished, they can play next door at the supervised play place. That is the magic time where I finished my food, coffee, and even got to chat with my husband!
The Playroom
We arrived for our brunch reservation at 10:00 and didn’t leave until after 13:00! Our three kids ages 1, 7, and 9 years old all loved playing in the play room just next door to the cafe.
Family Owned
The best part was chatting with owner Nadia and her sweet family who all help out in making this dream a reality. As soon as Nadia sat down with us, I felt like I’d known her my whole life. She was raised in California, so she speaks my language, which is comforting sometimes in this life of living abroad in Swiss German speaking Switzerland. Nadia is Swiss, Irish, raised in California, only to move to within seconds of her mother and grandparents. Nadia and her husband are both teachers, so they get what kids need and what parents want.
Next Time
Next time we book brunch here we will bring our bikes and cycle around the Greifensee like my friend Tanya recommends. We will have brunch, let the kids play, then head either to Greifensee or Pfäffiker Lake and the Jucker Farm area.
Make A Reservation
Make a reservation for brunch so the table and high chairs are ready for your family.

This is not a sponsored post. Our brunch and play were complementary. All my bizarre and rambling thoughts are sadly my own. This place is a great space and I would recommend it to anyone who has been struggling, especially with their toddler, to find a place where they feel welcome with their kids running around. And, if you haven’t finished your coffee while it’s warm in a while, you can do that at Luus Muus. Let the kids run free.
