My Pregnancy Week 36
Our baby is getting very big in my pregnancy week 36. Our neighbors threw us a wonderful baby shower last week which was absolutely amazing. I caught my daughter’s back to school cold, even though she had hers for a couple hours and mine seems to be ongoing. We visited one of my favorite places at my favorite time of the year, Jucker Farm, for their pumpkin sculptures and yummy brunch. And, we are having a baby boy!
Baby Shower
My amazing neighbors celebrated the upcoming birth of our baby with a baby shower last week. There was a lot of cake and friendly faces that we have made over the last three years of living on this wonderfully kid friendly and family friendly street. My neighbors brought lots of new and used clothes for the baby. We won’t need to buy this baby anything for a long time! Well, probably diapers, but we should be good for the first few months I think.
After the baby shower, my girls got straight to work unpacking all the wonderful hand me downs as well as new gifts and diapers. They sized all the baby clothes into the baby’s drawers, which is technically our guest room, but might now be the baby’s room.
Jucker Farm
We have been coming to Jucker Farm for their breakfast and lunch for a few years now and loving it. Here is my post from last year’s pumpkin sculpture at Seegräben Jucker Farm. This year we went to the pumpkin sculpture at Jucker Farm Bächlihof.
Book the brunch at Jucker Farm here. We signed up for 9am-1pm which is 44 Francs. We had breakfast and then carved a pumpkin and the girls played in the playground for a bit before we sat back down for lunch. For 38 Francs, you can sign up for a shorter version of Sunday brunch. There is absolutely everything you could imagine and want for brunch. During pumpkin season, which ends October 31st, most of the food is made of pumpkin which was so good.
Doctor’s Appointment
I’m still on a 3 week schedule for my doctor appointments so we don’t go for another check up until next week at 37 weeks! I can’t believe how close it’s getting to the birth of our baby. I almost wonder if I’ll make it to our appointment next week or if the baby will come sooner. But the girls were both born at 40 weeks so I doubt this one will come early…
Hospital Bag
My eldest nesting daughter helped me pack my hospital bag last week. I never brought anything to the hospital when the girls were born as both were induced immediately after our 40th week check ups both times. So I was excited that she wanted to get the baby’s clothes ready and I put a few things in to wear once the baby is born. And I have completely forgotten what to wear to nurse the baby! I have been wearing dresses basically since I found out I was pregnant. So I put a few sweaters and leggings and nursing bras into a bag. Hopefully that’s all I’ll need. For the baby we put in the cutest newborn onesies and hats. There is nothing cuter that newborn sized baby clothes! So tiny.
It’s A Boy!
We have known for a while that we are having a boy. I still haven’t really come to terms with it yet though. I was so confident that I would have another girl. My Mom had three girls and she is one of three girls. So I assumed I would also have three girls. But the doctor has been very adamant that we are having a boy so I have to get on board with that. I know that when our baby is born, I will be overwhelmed with love and not imagine our family without him. But in my head, I thought the baby would be a girl. Maybe I shouldn’t have found out the gender.
Did you find out the gender of your baby before while pregnant? Or was it a surprise?
